September Is National Suicide Prevention Month

By September 14, 2018 April 25th, 2019 No Comments

Losing a family member is something that is very close to home for the Bipolar Lemonade family. If you feel like someone close to you is suffering from thoughts of ending their life, please tell them that you love them, that they are not alone, give them a hug, sit with them and ask them to seek help! All they have to do is make a call and there will always be someone on the other line!

National Suicide Prevention Hotline
1-800-273-TALK (8255)
                                                                            or call 911 immediately

Suicide is not only the 10th leading cause of death among adults, but also the 3rd leading cause of death for youth aged 10–14. Studies also show that more than 20 veterans die by suicide every day.

Even scarier is the rate of death by suicide for people with mood disorders, such as depression or bipolar disorder, which is estimated to be 25 times higher than among the general population.

These staggering statistics highlight an urgent need for better treatments, earlier intervention, increased awareness and stronger support systems for individuals and families that are affected by mental illness

Please help NAMI fight for greater access to treatments and provide better support for people with mental illness.
